Kyrgyzstan's cabinet of ministers have taken the oath of office.

The newly confirmed ministers listened to President Almazbek Atambaev speak about the need to work for the people.

Atambaev said the first priority for the new government is to improve the energy situation in Kyrgyzstan.

Atambaev told the ministers and members of parliament that "it shouldn't be allowed for the people to remain for days without light and electricity, as is happening right now."

The ceremony took place in the parliament building.

Kyrgyzstan's new government was formed earlier this month and is headed by Prime Minister Omurbek Babanov.
