Reshuffle in Banking Sector of Turkmenistan

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on new appointments in the banking sector, the official Turkmen source said.

Former deputy chairman of State Commercial Bank of Turkmenistan Dayhanbank Parakhat Charyyargulyev was appointed as a Chairman of the International Joint Stock Bank Garagum.

Deputy Chairman of the Board Garagum Shamuhammet Durdyev was dismissed from temporary chairman of the bank post.

Begley Ishangulyev dismissed from deputy chairman of Dayhanbank as he was not able to cope with assigned duties. Allagulyev Polat became the Vice President of this bank.
Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Xalq Bank of Turkey and the two commercial banks of Turkmenistan established Garagum bank in 1993.

The main direction of the bank's activities is to promote small and medium businesses in Turkmenistan. The Bank has a general license to conduct transactions in foreign currencies and provides services for the foreign currency deposit accounts. It implements money transfers in a single day in various banks around the world through correspondent banks.
Dayhanbank serves primarily public and private agricultural producers, has over 50 branches in rural areas, through which provides loans to agricultural projects it short-term lines of credit.

The Bank has a general license for transactions in foreign currencies and provides services for the foreign currency deposit accounts.
