Friday, 16 December 2011Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security Ikram Adyrbekov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of Kazakhstan, Zhou Li; the press service of the Senate reported.
The sides discussed issues of further strengthening of Kazakh-Chinese bilateral relations, including at the level of inter-parliamentary dialogue.
According to Adyrbekov, Kazakhstan and China enjoy traditional friendship and good neighborly relations. Mutually beneficial strategic cooperation since the establishment of diplomatic relations is developing dynamically in all spheres of bilateral relations.
The parties also discussed the forthcoming visit to Kazakhstan by Chen Zhili, Chinese President Hu Jintao's Special Envoy, Chairman of the Standing Committee of National People's Congress and Askhat Kerimbay, Chairman of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regional Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. The visit will be dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence and 20th jubilee of Kazakh-Chinese diplomatic relations.
"China supports domestic and foreign policy of President Nursultan Nazarbayev," Mr. Zhou Li noted.
