Wednesday, 14 December 2011"Kazakhstan has acquired 5% stake in the Karachaganak project for USD 1 bln," Oil and Gas Minister of Kazakhstan Sauat Mynbayev told a press conference shortly after the signing ceremony.
"As for Kazakhstan's interests, we have got 5% stake in exchange for adjustment of all claims of the government authorities - neither tax nor customs bodies. We have also purchased extra 5% stake for USD 1 bln free of tax. Thus, National Company KazMunaiGas JSC has 10% stake in the project", Mynbayev said.
