12 December 2011ANKARA (A.A) - Turkish dailies mostly covered in their Monday issues Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's video conference with the Alliance of Civilizations Forum in Doha, Qatar and Turkish Justice Minister Sadullah Ergin's remarks about the judicial system in Turkey.
Commenting on Prime Minister Erdogan's remarks during a video conference with the Alliance of Civilizations Forum in Qatar, Hurriyet, Radikal and Yeni Safak dailies emphasized that Erdogan's speech received an ovation. Hurriyet daily quoted Erdogan as saying "While I am not in Doha physically, I feel the excitement in Doha with my heart. As long as state terror in the Middle East continues, efforts for mediation get sabotaged, bombs are thrown at innocent children and innocent individuals are kept in open air prisons, peace does not seem close".
Dailies also drew attention to Justice Minister Ergin's comments on court cases. Papers wrote that Ergin said judicial cases will take less time for a court decision. Cumhuriyet daily quoted Ergin as saying "We are working so that court cases in Turkey take less time and justice is delivered more quickly". Dailies underlined that Ergin rejected a proposal made by the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) to make legal adjustments so that the period under arrest goes down. |
