Deputies of the Kazakh Senate headed by Vice Speaker Alexander Sudin have met with Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Federal Government Commissioner for Matters Related to Repatriates and National Minorities, co-Chairman of the Kazakh-German Intergovernmental Commission for ethnic Germans living in Kazakhstan Christoph Bergner.

The issues of further development of bilateral Kazakh-German relations were discussed at the meeting; the Senate's press service reports.

"Germany is an important partner of Kazakhstan in Europe. We highly appraise the results of the first official visit of federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel to Kazakhstan in July, 2010," A.Sudin said and noted constructability of a political dialog between the two states.

The Vice Speaker noted that an important factor of strengthening of bilateral relations is the German Diaspora in Kazakhstan and former Kazakhstani citizens living in Germany.

"A key element of the interstate relations is interparliamentary cooperation," A Sudin said.

According to Christoph Bergner, bilateral Kazakh-German relations are characterized by mutual trust.

C.Bergner congratulated the Kazakhstanis on the 20th anniversary of independence and wish success in the upcoming elections to the Kazakh Majilis.

Senators A.Bizhanov and Z.Turegeldinov took part in the meeting.
