FM: Azerbaijan Ready to Increase Investments in Afghanistan

Azerbaijan ready to increase investments in Afghanistan, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said at the forum on Afghanistan on Monday, Turkish Cihan Agency reported.

The forum is attended by representatives of 85 states and 16 organizations.

Mammadyarov said the economy is an important factor to achieve peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan.

He said Azerbaijan provides support to Afghanistan in every possible way since the early days. This support is not limited to cooperation within ISAF and NATO. Some 35 percent of humanitarian supplies to Kabul pass by transit through Azerbaijan.

Mammadyarov said that Afghan mine clearance specialists are trained in Baku and Azerbaijan is ready to support Afghanistan in training of policemen and diplomats.
