Wednesday, 30 November 2011Bulgarian Parliament speaker Tsetska Tsacheva, who is on an official trip to India, met Tuesday in Delhi Indian Parliament lower chamber speaker Meira Kumar.
The two parliament heads expressed satisfaction at the friendly and intensive relations between the two countries and vowed to boost trade and economic cooperation, as well as parliamentary diplomacy.
"Indian investors should direct their attention to Bulgaria, which can readily serve as their entry-gate to the large market of the European Union," said Tsacheva.
She also stressed that the imminent signing of a free trade agreement between India and the EU should give a prime opportunity for increasing trade with and investment in Bulgaria.
"India is not only the largest democracy in the world and a country with immense contribution to the development of civilization, but also currently one of the best developing and most promising economies globally," said Tsacheva.
Earlier during their visit to India, the Bulgarian delegation, including key cabinet ministers, signed agreements for cooperation with India in the fields of healthcare, and research and technology. |
