Kazakhstan and France Invest $200 mln in Uranium Processing Plant

Kazakhstan and France invest USD 100 million each in the construction of uranium processing plant. Chairman of the Board of Kazatomprom JSC Vladimir Shkolnik made it public on the sidelines of the Forum of European and Asian Media in Astana on Monday.

He noted that France and Kazakhstan would own 49 and 51 percent stakes, respectively.

According to Shkolnik, the planned capacity is 400 tons of fuel annually. The construction will start next year. The plant is expected to be launched in 2014.
