Automotive Exports Exceed 17 bln USD

BURSA (A.A) - Turkey's automotive exports exceeded 17 billion USD in the first ten months of 2011.

Orhan Sabuncu, chairman of Uludag Automotive Industry Exporters' Union (OIB), said that automotive industry increased its exports six percent to 1.7 billion USD in October 2011.

He added that the automotive industry had 15 percent share and took the first line in Turkey's exports.

Automotive sector has been the champion of Turkey's exports for the last five years, he said.

According to a report of OIB, the sector made the highest exports to Germany with 247 million USD which was followed by France with 241 million USD, and Italy with 168 million USD in October 2011.

In the first ten months of 2011, Germany took the first place again with 2.3 billion USD, and followed by France with 2 billion USD and Italy with 1.7 billion USD.
