President of France Nicolas Sarkozy has sent a letter to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
"Mr. President, dear Ilham! Following the rich and successful visit, I want to express my gratitude to You for the cordial and excellent welcome in Baku. As I told You during Your visit to Paris in December 2009, I was willing to make a visit to Azerbaijan to witness a number of aspects of Your country's economic success and the changes made in Baku under Your leadership. Though I had limited time, those that I saw made a great impression on me," the letter reads.
Sarkozy thanked President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva for the decisive support provided to the establishment of a French lyceum in Baku.
"This project will be useful for both the French community in Azerbaijan and those who wish to educate their children within the framework of their language and culture, and young Azerbaijanis wishing to enter our universities for the sake of serving Your country. I reiterate my proposal to establish strategic partnership between our countries that will strengthen the already intensive relations. Looking forward to receiving You again in Paris, I express my gratitude once again, ask You to accept my deepest respect and feelings of friendship," the letter said.
