Turkey Follows With Concern Ongoing Tension in North Of Kosovo, Says Turkish MFA |
30 September 2011Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) condemned on Friday the acts of violence targeting the Kosovo Peace Force (KFOR).
In a statement released on Friday, the MFA said that "we follow with concern the ongoing tension in the north of Kosovo".
"In this respect, we condemn the acts of violence targeting the Kosovo Peace Force (KFOR) personnel who serve under the NATO command. We are gravely concerned about the consequences of such actions. We call upon the people of the region to act with restraint and to immediately cooperate with KFOR and EULEX in a constructive manner," the MFA said.
"Turkey attaches utmost importance to the stability of Kosovo and believes that the ongoing issues between Belgrade and Pristine can only be resolved through dialogue," the MFA also said.
