The recent WikiLeaks reports concerning Azerbaijan are lie and slander, the Azerbaijani authorities believe.
"Referring to the U.S. diplomats, WikiLeaks is spreading groundless information aimed at creating tensions in relations between different states in the region," Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Social and Political Department Chief Ali Hasanov said in an interview with Trend on Monday. "We have repeatedly refuted such reports. In particular, there have been reports directed at deteriorating relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, targeting to provide false information about the leaders of Azerbaijan and Turkey, the Azerbaijani-Russian and Azerbaijani-Iranian relations and directed to spoiling the relations. We have repeatedly refuted such information and denied it. It is a lie, concocted and specifically spread information. And today we are committed to this view,"
Hasanov said information of WikiLeaks has slided to the level of yellow press.
"We have repeatedly proved the falsity of these statements by grounding on facts," he stressed. "For example, the reports spread recently urge that reportedly after the event of GUAM, the President of Azerbaijan showed his guests a residence being able to amaze them.
However, this event took place at the State Residence’s guest house in Zagulba, which has neither sauna, nor other beauties able to amaze the visitors. This fact itself testifies that these all are lies. This is false information, or someone else's fiction. There are also phrases related to Iran, which were allegedly said by the Azerbaijani President. We definitely refute all of them and assess them fictional. This is a policy pursued to affect Azerbaijan's relations with foreign countries, and a policy to shape and regulate the relations for own purposes. Certain phrases were used with reference to various U.S. state officials, and we refute them, too," said Hasanov. |
