Monday, 13 June 2011The number of female deputies has risen from 50 to 78 after Sunday's elections in Turkey.
45 female candidates from the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party, 19 from the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), 3 from the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and 11 independent ones entered the Turkish Parliament based on the results of the Sunday elections.
With Sunday's elections, the percentage of female deputies in the Turkish Parliament went up to 14 from 9 in the previous term. |
