The NATO Secretary General, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, will travel to Ashgabat on Thursday, 21 October 2004. He will meet President Saparmurat Niyazov, with Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov and Minister of Defence Agageldi Mammetgeldiyev.
He will also address the Turkmen Military Academy.

The NATO Secretary General, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, will travel to Tashkent on Wednesday, 20 October 2004. He will meet President Islam Karimov, with Minister of Foreign Affairs Sadik Safaev and Minister of Defence Kadir Gulamov. The Secretary General will also address students at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

The NATO Secretary General, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, will travel to Almaty on Tuesday, 19 October 2004. He will meet President Nursultan Nazarbayev, with Minister of Foreign Affairs Kassymzhomart Tokayev and with Minister of Defence Mukhtar Altynbayev.
The Secretary General will also address students at the Kazakh National University of Abai.
NATO Secretary General to travel to the Kyrghyz Republic

The NATO Secretary General, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, will travel to Bishkek from
18 - 19 October 2004. He will meet President Askar Akaev, with Prime Minister Nikolai Tanaev, with Minister of Foreign Affairs Askar Aitmatov and Minister of Defence Esen Topoyev.
The Secretary General will also have a meeting with the Speakers of the two chambers of the National Parliament, Mr. Altar Borubaev and Mr. Abdygany Erkebaev and will address students at the American University in Central Asia.
