The real estate claims of Greek Cypriots are sowing distrust between the Greek and Turkish Cypriots, said Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Namik Tan at Wednesday's press briefing.

"We view the Greek Cypriots' attempts and claims to be an attempt to impose their rule on the Turkish Cypriots. These attempts are not compatible with efforts to find a solution to the Cyprus problem or with a new and comprehensive reunification process," Tan said.

Stating that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has legally engaged the Greek Cypriot real estate lawsuits, Tan pledged Turkey's full support for the TRNC on the issue.
